En 1904 il est employé comme ouvrier serrurier dans les ateliers de Khisil-Artavat, près de la mer Caspienne où il sympathise avec les bolchéviks, il devient à partir de ce moment anarchiste.

En 1906 il commet deux actes passibles de la peine de mort : il fait sauter un immeuble de la police et assassine le responsable de la dénonciation pour faits de grève d'un coup de révolver. Il est condamné à mort mais réussit à s'évader grace au soutien de camarades.

S'ensuit une période d'exil de deux ans à l'étranger où il continue ses activités révolutionnaires (trafic d'armes) mais il est arrêté à la frontière Autrichienne, livré à la Russie et condamnée à 20 années de prison.

Emprisonné près de Moscou, il rencontre et se lie d’amitié avec Nestor Makhno.

Libéré après la Révolution Russe de février il est tout de même contraint de s'exiler en Allemagne puis en France.

Il fonde avec d'autres camarades fuyant les bolchéviks en Russie le groupe Dielo Trouda en 1925. Ils éditent une revue dans laquelle Archinov fera la critique de le régime soviétique - il fut l'un des premiers à le qualifier de capitalisme d'État¹- et analysera l'échec de l'anarchisme dans l'histoire.

S'interrogeant sur l'échec du mouvement anarchiste russe en 1917 auquel il participa, Archinov a tenté de tirer quelques conclusions pratiques.

Opposant farouche du synthésisme, il rédige avec ses compagnons du groupe Dielo Trouda la plate-forme.

En 1932 il retourne en URSS et travaille au gouvernement comme correcteur. Il sera victime des purges, accusé de « tentative de restauration de l’anarchisme », et exécuté en 1937.
