Fédération communiste libertaire

La Fédération communiste libertaire ou FCL, était une organisation anarchiste française active de 1953 à 1957. Elle est l'ancêtre de l'Alternative libertaire.

Origine[edit]

La Fédération communiste libertaire est issue de la transformation de la Fédération anarchiste dite "de 1945", lors de son congrès de Paris (23-25 mai 1953), en organisation communiste libertaire. Le changement de nom, de FA à FCL, prend effet en décembre de la même année après un référendum. Lors de ce congrès sont élus aux postes de responsabilité de l'organisation Roger Caron (Secrétaire Général), Gilbert Blanchet, René Lustre, André Moine (propagande), Jean Laulla et Michel Donnet (relations extérieures). L'existence de la FCL sera courte puisqu'elle est démantelée par la répression policière dans le courant de l'année 1957.

Historique[edit]

En 1953, ses militants prennent part aux grands mouvements de grève en défense des retraites.

En novembre 1954, la FCL s'engage dans le soutien aux indépendantistes algériens. Les murs de Paris sont alors recouvert d'affiches "Algérie libre" signée de la FCL. La répression judiciaire et policière s'engage. La FCL fonde, avec d'autres organisations communistes libertaire, une Internationale communiste libertaire (ICL) qui ne survivra pas au démantèlement de la FCL.

En mai 1955, le premier militant français incarcéré pour son soutien à la cause algérienne est un ouvrier communiste libertaire, membre de la FCL, Pierre Morain.

En août 1955, la FCL est présente lors des grèves insurrectionnelles à Nantes, où elle distribue 10 000 exemplaires d'une édition spéciale du Libertaire.

En décembre 1955, la FCL décide de présenter des "candidats révolutionnaires" aux élections législatives de 1956[1]. Ils feront un score dérisoire et Georges Fontenis considèrera par la suite cette tentative électoraliste comme « une erreur quelque peu ridicule » [2], qui a entraîné la scission de plusieurs groupes actifs. Ces groupes formeront ensuite les Groupes anarchistes d'action révolutionnaire (GAAR)[3]. Pour Christian Lagant, l'éditeur de la revue Noir et rouge, la FCL était devenu un « parti plus trotskiste que libertaire qui devait se suicider politiquement après le summum de la participation aux élections législatives de 1956 » [4].

Mais ce n'est pas cette passade électoraliste qui devait sonner le glas de la FCL. En juillet 1956, le Libertaire, étranglé par les condamnations, la censure et les saisies de la police, cesse de paraître. Une partie des militants les plus en vue de la FCL passent à la clandestinité (Georges Fontenis, Pierre Morain, Paul Philippe, Léandre Valéro).

A l'été 1957, la DST arrête les derniers militants en cavale. L'aventure FCL est terminée.

L'actuelle Alternative libertaire est dans une certaine mesure l'héritière de la FCL.
